What Families Are Saying

Candace Meadows
As a healthcare professional I recommend this facility! The staff is compassionate and responsive. The med techs and caregivers and administrative teams are amazing. They have wonderful communication and truly care about their residents. Jill is friendly and collaborative and Bobbie is responsive and gets stuff done! The facility is clean and homey. Go tour today!

This facility is beautiful, clean, and brand new. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Particularly, the nurse Letisha has been amazing at communication — she even hand delivered clothes to my father when he was in a temporary rehab facility nearby. Her care and communication is really what makes the place 5 stars for me. We did have some frustrating issues with the auto billing and had to change to writing a check each month. However as far as care and facilities go, I can’t say enough good things!

My mom has only been at this facility for a week (and I will update if needed), but so far, the experience has been a great one, including exchanges with administration. Special shout out to Anita, Wellness Nurse, who's on top of ensuring residents' safety and care and Duane, who is genuinely compassionate about meeting needs of residents. I moved my mom here from another facility that had more staff to resident ratio. Initially I was concerned about this but the care my mom receives exceeds the care she received at previous facility. I do hope the company that now owns Tucson Gardens, Care Partners Senior Living, considers hiring more staff to ensure continued safety of residents, as well as in advocacy of their staff, who truly work hard!

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Vineyard Park Cottages Covington different from other memory care communities?
Vineyard Park Cottages Covington was intentionally designed around a small-house memory care model rather than a large apartment-style community. Each cottage functions like a family home, with comfortable shared living spaces, family-style dining and opportunities for meaningful interaction throughout the day. This approach encourages connection, familiarity and engagement while helping reduce the isolation that can occur when someone spends most of their time alone in a private apartment.
Why does the cottage model work so well for memory care?
For individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia, familiarity and routine are incredibly important. Our cottages eliminate long hallways, complex floor plans and large institutional environments. Instead, daily life centers around a smaller household where neighbors, caregivers, meals and activities become familiar parts of the day. This predictable environment can help reduce confusion while encouraging participation and social connection.
How does the cottage design support daily life?
When someone steps out of their room, they immediately enter the heart of the home rather than a long hallway. Open sightlines make it easy to locate caregivers, dining areas and activity spaces. This design encourages natural interaction, supports independence and helps individuals remain connected to the daily rhythm of the cottage.
What types of activities and programs are offered?
Each day includes opportunities for engagement, creativity and connection. Popular activities include bingo, monthly birthday celebrations, holiday dinners, live music, music therapy, social gatherings and special events throughout the year. The smaller cottage setting also allows our team to tailor activities to individual interests and abilities while encouraging participation in a comfortable environment.
Are spiritual programs available?
Yes. We recognize that spiritual well-being is an important part of overall wellness. Opportunities for reflection, fellowship and faith-based engagement may include Bible study, worship services, music-centered spiritual programs and other meaningful gatherings.
What do families appreciate most about the community?
Families frequently mention the warmth and compassion of our team, the beautiful secure courtyard and the genuine sense of community found throughout the cottages. Many also appreciate the variety of activities, personalized support and the relationships they see develop between caregivers and those who call our community home.
What is the surrounding Covington area like?
Vineyard Park Cottages Covington enjoys a convenient location in the heart of the community. Nearby shopping includes Costco, Kohl’s, Marshalls, Safeway, Fred Meyer and Walmart. Families visiting loved ones often enjoy local restaurants, coffee shops and gathering places throughout Covington Town Center. Founder’s Park and the Town Center Lawn are also nearby, providing welcoming spaces to relax and spend time together.
Are there parks and outdoor destinations nearby?
Yes. Covington offers easy access to several scenic outdoor destinations, including Covington Community Park Trails, Jenkins Creek Park Trail and the Soos Creek Trail. The area provides beautiful opportunities to enjoy nature, fresh air and the Pacific Northwest landscape.
What level of care is provided?
Vineyard Park Cottages Covington specializes exclusively in memory care for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia and other cognitive conditions. Personalized care plans are developed based on each person’s needs, preferences, abilities and life history, ensuring support evolves as needs change.
What makes your memory care team unique?
Families often compliment the dedication, compassion and longevity of our team. Because the cottages are intentionally smaller, caregivers have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and gain a deeper understanding of personal routines, preferences and communication styles. This familiarity helps create a more personalized care experience.
How does the smaller cottage setting benefit those living with dementia?
Smaller households naturally create more opportunities for interaction and relationship-building. Familiar faces, consistent routines and a manageable environment help many individuals feel more comfortable and secure. The intimate setting also allows caregivers to notice subtle changes and provide support tailored to each person’s needs.
How do you help reduce confusion and wandering?
The cottage model was specifically designed with dementia-friendly principles in mind. Open sightlines, visual cues and simplified layouts help individuals navigate the environment more easily. Rather than encountering long corridors and multiple wings, daily life unfolds within a comfortable and familiar setting that promotes confidence and reduces frustration.
Are families involved in care planning?
Absolutely. Families are valuable partners in the care journey. We encourage ongoing communication, regular visits and collaboration with our team to help ensure support remains personalized and meaningful.
What is family-style dining like?
Meals are enjoyed together within each cottage, creating a warm and familiar experience that feels more like home than a restaurant. Sharing meals around the table encourages conversation, social engagement and a sense of belonging while helping establish consistent daily routines.
Why is family-style dining beneficial for memory care?
Research has shown that smaller dining environments can be especially beneficial for individuals living with dementia. The aromas of freshly prepared meals help stimulate appetite, while the intimate setting reduces distractions and encourages social interaction. Mealtimes become a meaningful part of the day rather than simply a scheduled event.
Why don't the cottages have private kitchens?
The absence of private kitchens is intentional and supports both safety and engagement. Rather than preparing meals alone, individuals enjoy the benefits of shared dining and daily interaction with neighbors and caregivers. This design helps foster community while creating opportunities for connection around one of the most important parts of the day—sharing a meal together.
Does the community have outdoor spaces?
Yes. Our beautifully landscaped secure courtyard serves as an extension of the cottage environment. Our park-like setting offers opportunities for walking, conversation, gardening, relaxation, and enjoying fresh air in a secure setting.
What healthcare services are available?
Vineyard Park Cottages Covington is conveniently located near MultiCare Covington Medical Center, MultiCare Auburn Medical Center and Valley Medical Center, providing access to respected healthcare systems and specialty providers throughout the region. Within the community, we also offer a variety of healthcare services that enhance convenience and continuity of care. Through our partnership with Dunia Healthcare, individuals have access to an on-site primary care provider along with visiting specialists who work closely with our nursing team. Available services include podiatry, mobile vision care, mobile dentistry, mental and behavioral health support and other specialty services delivered directly within the community whenever possible.
Can healthcare providers visit the community?
Yes. Many healthcare services can be provided on-site, reducing the need for outside appointments and helping individuals receive care in a familiar environment. This collaborative approach helps support continuity of care while making healthcare more convenient for families.
Do you offer salon and barber services?
Yes. Salon and barber services are available within the community, making it easy to maintain familiar grooming routines and personal preferences.
Who is a good fit for Vineyard Park Cottages Covington?
Our community is designed for individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or other memory-related conditions who would benefit from specialized support, a secure environment and the advantages of a smaller, relationship-centered setting.
Can family and friends visit?
Yes. We encourage frequent visits and meaningful involvement from loved ones. Ongoing relationships remain an important part of emotional well-being and quality of life, and families are always welcomed as part of our community.
What safety features are included throughout the community?
Safety is thoughtfully integrated into every aspect of the cottage design. Secure access, secure outdoor spaces, dementia-friendly layouts, open sightlines and specially trained memory care professionals help create an environment that balances safety, comfort and independence.
Why do so many families choose a cottage-style memory care community?
Many families are drawn to the cottage model because it feels more like home. Smaller households promote stronger relationships, more personalized care and greater day-to-day engagement. Rather than navigating a large institutional setting, individuals enjoy the familiarity, comfort and connection that come from being part of a close-knit household.
How long has Vineyard Park been serving seniors?
Vineyard Park communities have been serving older adults for more than 30 years. Throughout that time, we have remained committed to creating environments where individuals feel valued, families feel supported and every day includes opportunities for connection, purpose and meaningful moments.
